KGKirk Aeronautics Basketball League 2025: Building Teamwork Beyond the Runway

Last April 2025, KGKirk Aeronautics Corporation brought the Laoag Airport community together through one of the most exciting events of the year — the KGKirk Aeronautics Basketball League 2025.

The tournament was held at the basketball court in front of the Laoag ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) Station, where the sound of bouncing balls and cheering crowds filled the air for several weeks. The league gathered twelve teams representing different organizations and units working in and around Laoag International Airport, each bringing their energy, discipline, and determination to the court.

Highlights and Winners
The games were marked by thrilling plays, close scores, and the kind of competitive spirit that kept players and spectators on the edge of their seats. Every match wasn’t just about winning — it was about representing one’s unit or organization with pride, while building bonds with fellow airport community members.
After weeks of intense action, the tournament came down to three outstanding teams:
- Champion – PMC MBLT8
- 1st Runner-Up – CAAP CSIS / Admin
- 2nd Runner-Up – KGKirk Aeronautics / PMC 58th MC / US Army
The finals, in particular, drew a strong crowd of colleagues, families, and friends who gathered to witness the culmination of weeks of dedication and teamwork.
More Than Just a Tournament
The basketball league was organized with a purpose that went beyond sports. For the men and women of Laoag Airport — from air traffic controllers, safety officers, porters, and mechanics, to military units and aviation staff — the league was a reminder that teamwork is as vital on the court as it is in aviation.
These groups work hand-in-hand daily to keep the airport safe, secure, and efficient. Like basketball, success relies on coordination, trust, and discipline. The league became a way to celebrate this shared mission while promoting wellness, camaraderie, and pride within the airport community.
A Community United
For KGKirk Aeronautics, the basketball league was about supporting sports and honoring the people who make up the backbone of Laoag Airport. The event highlighted the unity that binds civil aviation agencies, military units, service providers, and airline partners — all playing different roles but sharing one goal.
“We are proud to support initiatives like this that bring the airport community closer together,” said a representative from KGKirk Aeronautics. “Just like in aviation, basketball shows us the value of discipline, trust, and teamwork. This league is our way of giving back to the men and women who dedicate themselves daily to keeping Laoag Airport running smoothly and safely.”
The KGKirk Aeronautics Basketball League 2025 ended with champions crowned. Still, its greater victory lies in the friendships strengthened, the teamwork reinforced, and the renewed sense of belonging felt by everyone who took part.
